How We Handle Disputes

What is a Metro 2 dispute?

Metro 2 is the standardized format that lenders and collection agencies use to report credit information to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. It sets guidelines for how account details such as balances, payment history, account status, and delinquency dates must be reported.

A Metro 2 dispute focuses on whether credit information is being reported accurately and consistently according to these guidelines. It does not challenge the existence of a debt, but rather the accuracy and completeness of how the information appears on a credit report.

How does White, Jacobs & Associates use Metro 2 guidelines?

At White, Jacobs & Associates, we review each client’s credit report for potential reporting inconsistencies, inaccuracies, or incomplete data based on commonly accepted credit reporting standards, including Metro 2 guidelines.

When appropriate, we submit disputes that request the credit bureaus to reinvestigate specific items to ensure the information being reported is accurate, verifiable, and properly documented.

Are Metro 2 disputes a separate service?

No. Metro 2–based review is part of our standard credit repair process.

Throughout your time with White, Jacobs & Associates, your credit reports are continually evaluated for reporting accuracy. Any disputes submitted are based on the specific information contained in your report at that time. There are no additional fees for this type of review, and it is not marketed as a separate or premium service.

What types of issues may be reviewed using this approach?

While every credit report is different, this review process may identify items such as:

  • Inconsistent account statuses
  • Incorrect balances or dates
  • Conflicting payment history
  • Improper reporting on closed or transferred accounts
  • Incomplete or outdated information

Not all items will qualify for a dispute, and results vary based on the information provided by data furnishers.

Does this mean negative accounts will be removed?

No. White, Jacobs & Associates does not guarantee the removal of any account or specific result.

Credit bureaus are required by law to correct or remove information that is found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable. If information is verified as accurate, it may remain on the credit report.

Is this process legal and compliant?

Yes. Our process is based on consumer rights provided under federal law, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We submit disputes honestly, accurately, and in good faith, and we do not encourage false claims or misrepresentation.

How long does the process take?

Credit repair timelines vary. Some changes may occur within the first few months, while other items may take longer to review or may not change at all. Progress depends on how quickly credit bureaus and data furnishers respond and whether information can be verified.

What makes White, Jacobs & Associates different?

Our focus is on accuracy, compliance, and individualized review. We do not use mass-produced dispute letters or make promises about specific outcomes. Each dispute is based on the information in your credit report and submitted with care and professionalism.
